Hi everybody. Tom here from BBC Learning English. Today, I'm going to explain解释 the difference差异 between 'to steal剽窃' and 'to rob抢劫'. Both 'to steal剽窃' and 'to rob' mean to take something without permission允许. 'To steal剽窃' focuses on the object目标 or the thing which is taken. For example... 'Hey, somebody just stole剽窃 my phone.' 'Rob' focuses on the victim受害人 of the crime罪. For example... 'The men robbed抢劫 a bank last night.' 'I wouldn't say someone robbed抢劫 my phone.' 'I would say they robbed抢劫 me and stole剽窃 my phone.'
