This is what's happening today. As a result of some embarrassing( 令人难堪的) mistakes in deliveries(投递), Tip(小费 v.给....小费) Top( 顶部) Trading's Big Boss(老板) in America has ordered a recheck of every order this month. So Paul's talking to key customers to see if they've got what they needed. "I just want to check you're happy with the grapes." Tom, who we all know is responsible(负责的) for the disaster(灾难), is phoning his(他的) clients([经] 客户) to make sure he has the correct information about what they want. "Yeah, yeah, I just want to make absolutely(完全地) sure we get the order right for you and have got the correct number of fruit."
Denise is, well, talking on the phone to a friend. "Brown shoes don't look right on him. He's not a brown shoe sort(种类) of person." Anna's got to go down to the warehouse( 仓库) where the products are prepared for delivery(投递). "I have to speak to Mr.Ingo. Apparently(显然地) he's not very friendly. He might(可以〔用于礼貌地提出建议〕) not like me asking lots of questions." Well, be polite(有礼貌的) and start your sentences with things like, "I just want to make sure that..."
Could you possibly(可能地) clarify(澄清)? "I just want to check." Just to be absolutely clear(清晰的), one thing I wasn't sure of was, "Good luck(运气)."
